Despite the urgency of the climate crisis, less than 2% of global philanthropy tackles climate change. Of this, only a tiny portion empowers grassroots global majority change-makers. We aim to change that.

The climate movement is a civil rights movement. To transform harmful systems, we must first name them.
Countries of the imperial core bear primary responsibility for the historic excess of carbon emissions — driven by industrialisation and rooted in colonialism*.
Meanwhile, the impacts of climate change are felt most acutely amongst the Majority World.
Communities already marginalised by class, race, gender, age, sexuality, and ability are the hardest hit, despite contributing the least to the crisis.
As an organisation with European roots, we recognise that Europe’s disproportionate wealth has been built on colonialism, enslavement, exploitative labour, environmental destruction, and the unpaid labour of women. We also acknowledge the role European colonialism has played in spreading harmful ideologies and policies targeting queer and gender non-conforming people.
RJ is a new organisation built on European wealth working toward a funding practice that centres the needs of frontline communities, change-makers and systems change.
