About Page – Funding for Climate Justice

The next 10 years will see the biggest intergenerational shift of wealth in history.

This generation also inherits a dying planet shrouded in resource wars and a new colonial era.

RJ asks, what are we waiting for? Now is the time to decolonize wealth for collective healing, liberation and climate justice. Our vision is a sustainable, equitable and decolonised planet where all life flourishes. Behind the science of climate change stands a colonial legacy, of indigenous and local peoples displaced with lands grabbed and exploited to maximise wealth extraction. Within this extractivism lies a story of profound, ongoing harm, driving life and cultures today to the brink of extinction.

RJ is a small new grant-giving body mobilising wealth towards climate justice and decolonial futures. In these first years we are trialling funding zones, while taking time to develop our community and practice. During this incubation period we will not be doing public calls for funding or accept unsolicited requests. We appreciate the desperate, wide spread need for funding right now but must do our best to identify a practice that is safe, respectful and dignified, led by those we serve.

RJ has been founded by inheritors of European wealth who want to break violent cycles of individual wealth and power accumulation by investing in the collective wealth and wellbeing of a decolonial climate justice. RJ hopes to find its place in the movement for earth repairs.

We acknowledge the underfunding of global majority and indigenous earth defenders and their call for climate justice reparations. In deep respect to nature, spirit and humanity, Resourcing Justice shifts the flow of resources to serve a fairer, greener Earth where all life can flourish. We give thanks to those that have contributed to our growth and learning so far.
